Carnimax represents fast acting liquid L-carnitine with high degree of absorption in the digestive system.
Carnitine is a substance responsible for the transport of long-chain fatty acids through the mitochondrial membrane of the cell. It supplies substrate (fatty acids) for the process of beta-oxidation, thus releasing energy in the mitochondrial matrix (especially in skeletal muscles and myocardial cells). As a result it increases the physical endurance of the organism. Carnitine is a derivate of the amino acids lysine and methionine, from which it is synthesized in the liver and kidneys. Human body contains about 25-30 g L-carnitine, and 98 % of this amount is stored into skeletal muscle and myocardium. The standard diet gives 10-100 mg of carnitine daily, which is absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract by using specific transport means. However, the real needs of the body are greater and additional amount of endogenously synthesized carnitine is added. In some conditions (for example, increased physical activity), the needs can exceed daily supplies, which can be compensated by using Carnimax as food supplement.
