Indications: 1. Mild and moderate forms of viral hepatitis and hepatitis caused by other infectious agents. 2. In the convalescent period following viral hepatitis and hepatitis caused by other infectious agents. 3. Chronic hepatitis and cirrhoses of various etiology- toxic, alcoholic etc. 4. Chronic cholecystites, cholangiohepatites, and cholelithiasis. 5. Patients at risk of hepatic functional impairment (due to industrial toxins or physical overload). “Nutrical Hepaticum” contains milk and plant protein of high biological value - Protein Efficiency Ratio (PER) after FAO/WHO = 2.9. Fats: "Nutrical Hepaticum” is a low fat product but the percentage of fats is sufficient to meet the daily requirements, to supply the fat soluble vitamins and to produce a moderate choleretic effect. Fats come from milk and plant sources and contain mainly short- and medium-chain polyunsaturated (including essential) fatty acids. “Nutrical Hepaticum” contains efficiently utilized monosaccharides, disaccharides and 2.0-2.5 % fiber. Mineral and vitamin composition is adjusted to meet the increased nutritional requirements of such patients. “Nutrical Hepaticum” is a low salt product. Dosage: Adjusted to daily energy and protein demands. A pack of “Nutrical Hepaticum” (250 g) contains 65 g protein and 1060 kcal, a heaped tablespoonful (20 g) contains 5 g protein (85 kcal). When a patient is fed on “Nutrical Hepaticum” only, the daily intake should be adjusted to body weight. The daily dose of “Nutrical Hepaticum” is divided into 2 or 3 servings. Recommended diluents include for breakfast - nonfat milk, for lunch - bouillon, for dinner- juice or nectar. If the product substitutes for 2 or 3 daily meals 183 g or 2/3 of the above mentioned dose is recommended.

Dose and Usage
Add a tablespoonful of “Nutrical Hepaticum” to 70-80 ml diluent. Recommended diluents are water, vegetable and fruit juices or nectars, meat (chicken or beef) bouillons, and milk. Choose diluent and neutral, chocolate, raspberry of strawberry flavored “Nutrical Hepaticum” according to individual taste. In cases of increased daily energy needs juice and nectar used as diluents supply additionally 30-60 g carbohydrates (125 -250 kcal) per 300 ml. Milk is used as diluent in cases of increased protein demands: 300 ml non fat milk contains 10.5 g protein, 15 g carbohydrate and 180 kcal. Neutral, chocolate and strawberry flavored.
